Birthday Balloons

This month there is a masculine theme over at Uniko Studio.

Less Is More want things that go 'pop' or 'bang'.

 

I love CAS cards, and usually find this style works really well for masculine cards.

I've used the images from the "Balloon Bash" set coupled with a sentiment from the "Simply Said: Birthday" set.

And I couldn't resist a little sparkle - toned down a bit for the blokes.

Even men need a bit of pizazz on their birthday :)

My little cupcake is shimmering with a Wink of Stella to complement the glittery hearts and shiny gold thread.

It's the only thing shimmering around my neck of the woods as the sun is resolutely refusing to appear.

It's a cold overcast day.

Yeuch.

Off to put the washing out to dry ...on the radiators!

Double Embossed Butterflies

 

 

CASology has the cue word "move" this week and

Uniko want to see metallic.

The CAS Mix Up May challenge is stamping, heat embossing & another.

 

We made this card (amongst others!) at my last Craft Club session.

Lots of different techniques to have fun with - watercolouring with dry embossing, then heat embossing and a final sprinkling of Mica powders!

First we "pooled" a couple of ink colours in the debossed areas of the embossing folder before passing the card through the Big Shot.

Then we brushed Versamark over the embossed areas and sprinkled it with holographic and silver embossing powders.

To finish it off, we added some irridescent Mica powder with an Aquapainter.

Birthday Circles

 

 

Addicted To Stamps and Seize The Birthday

both have "anything goes".

 

 

 

This month Uniko want to see metallics.

Metallics could be in the form of paper, card, embellishments or heat embossing.

I've paired the wonderful "Background Builders: Circles" stamp set with some sentiments from the "Simply Said" set and some requisite metallic sequins.

Apologies for the hiatus in my blog posts recently,

we welcomed a new addition to the household and I've been rather busy getting him settled in!

Meet Alfie:

 

 

 

No chance of disappearing to my craft desk this last week.

It's like having a baby again!

The good news is he's picking things up very quickly

(socks, shoes, leaves and stones included!).

He managed 30 minutes in his crate today - result ;)

so I'm hoping to sneak off to craft again soon

and regular blog posts should resume in due course!
