Using FMS #12 sketch from  Freshly Made Sketches.  Just Add Ink's challenge this week is to make a Christmas Card with no Christmas images or stamps - so I've used the Bird Builder punch to represent a dove of peace together with an olive branch.

Card based on this week's CP sketch 141.  Apologies for the dull lighting  - the sun sets too early these days!  I love dots (can you tell?).  I've used scallopped card edges to complement the scallopped pennant parade stamp set and punch. See this post for how to ruffle the ribbon!

A rather OTT card for me but the occasion called for it!  My friend's 40th this week.  A fancy Easel Card loaded with different textures, pattern, scallops, metallic ink, ribbon & rhinestones!

Last week I snagged some ribbon by mistake aarg, but this led to a wonderful discovery ... ruched ribbon.  If you slightly fray the end of  piece of ribbon , locate a thread from the middle and pull, pull, pull (tweezers do help here!) with a bit of tweaking you get this lovely ruched ribbon effect!

My take for this week's FMS Sketch

I had lots of fun with this one!  It's very simple and monochromatic but I love the finished effect.

I used paper to mask off two strip areas top & bottom for the stamp wheel.

Then when I'd added the middle strip, I cut slits in the card front to weave ribbon through to separate the three strip areas.  Does all that make sense?  ;)

My card for this week's FMS sketch

I made this card for my father-in-law who's about to have an operation - so I've tried to keep it "masculine" with the blue tones and the crisp white background.

My take on the current SFF sketch SFF110411

What a miserable morning!  Hence rather dull photo. Chris Evans' radio forecast for today was mild, dry and sunny .. but it's cold, raining & overcast!  Anyhow, my SU order finally arrived (yippee!) so I'm feeling cheery.

In no particular order, these are the items from the current catalogue that I can't wait to get my hands on! ...

1.  Just Believe Stamp Set (p61)
You could use the images singly or combined.  Highlight the flowers & do some decoupage, try emboss resist on dark background paper, use the circle image for tags, add sentiments to the frame images ... Think Springtime, Easter, Mother's Day, Sympathy.  The frames are great for scrapbooking ...

2. Curly Cute Stamp Set (p86)
All your main occasion cards covered with this set!

3. Triple Treat Flower Stamp Set (p15)
I love this flower.  Combine with a sentiment for a very quick card.  Stamp in different colour-ways and layer.  Make life quicker, and easier, by using the co-ordinating Fancy Flower & 5-petal Flower punches (p116, 118)

4. Every Little Bit Stamp Set (p48)
Ideal for those who like a bit of colouring-in!  There is a stamp for every occasion (Birthday, Xmas, Good Luck, Baby, Birthday, Female, Male, Valentine, Halloween, Bon Voyage) and more!  Use them with versamark for patterned background paper, layer them on scallopped circles for a card feature, use them for gift tags ...

5. Pennant Parade Stamp Set (p37)
There are SO MANY card ideas that spring to mind with this set.  Combine the stamped triangles to make Xmas trees, bunting, ice-cream cones, flags ...  The mini messages can be used for so many occasions Xmas, Birthdays, Everyday, New Baby, Anniversary .... And to make life easier there is a co-ordinating punch set Petite Pennants Builder (p119)

Lovely black velvety flocking on 2 of these designs.
